Kiwitaxi joins AZAL Miles with airport transfer bookings

Kiwitaxi and Azerbaijan Airlines have partnered to add pre-booked airport transfers to the AZAL Miles loyalty program, giving members a new way to earn miles on ground transportation. The move expands airline loyalty beyond flights and lets travelers book transfers in 35 countries through a dedicated AZAL booking path.

Why it matters: - AZAL Miles members can now earn airline miles on airport transfers, not just flights. - The partnership extends the loyalty program into ground transportation, which can make trip planning simpler after landing. - The addition reflects a broader shift in airline loyalty programs toward end-to-end travel services.

Between the lines: - The partnership gives Azerbaijan Airlines another customer touchpoint before and after the flight, not just onboard. - Kiwitaxi is positioning itself as infrastructure for airlines that want to sell more of the trip experience through loyalty programs and partner channels. - The deal also suggests loyalty currency is becoming more flexible, with everyday travel purchases feeding future flight redemptions.

What's next: - Travelers can expect more airline partnerships that bundle flights with transfers and other ground services. - AZAL Miles members now have a new path to accumulate miles while booking airport transport. - Kiwitaxi said the partnership fits its long-term plan to help airlines extend the passenger journey beyond the airport.
